A Mid-Mod Ranch

A humble yet handsome midcentury modern brick ranch with a prominent carport. I've long been a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian aesthetic, and its influence upon greater American house design throughout the midcentury is apparent to anybody with eyeballs. Of course, not many could afford to build a full-blown Usonian, and much fewer could actually get an audience with the cantankerous old fart who originated them, so the tradesmen architects and builders of the world did what they could to simulate the style in various, occasionally inelegant ways. Hopefully, I've struck a balance between "way too much wood paneling" and "just the right amount of carport" with this design to not be permanently banned from Taliesin. Based on various midcentury modern ranches I've seen in my life, this lot should function as a reasonable home for a mid-sized family of parafolk and their car, if those are ever added to the game. There isn't a fantastic variety of fitting furnishings in-game as of yet, and like with my Lustron there's a marked absence of built-ins, but the open floorplan and fairly simple layout should give itself to many different decor aesthetics. Needless to say, no mods or funny build mode tricks were employed here, so I figure this lot will function far into the future of Paralives. Besides the bare necessities and some characterful detailing, the lot comes (mostly) unfurnished. Three bedrooms, one modest bath. Under $15,000, which is really a bargain for such a wood-paneled gem like this!
