Cristina, Emil, Lara, Elyx and Zahra are a family that has seen better days and is still figuring out what the good days look like from here. Cristina and Emil have been married for over two decades, a quick marriage that Cristina never quite stopped questioning, something she eventually stopped hiding from her daughter Lara. Lara took that to heart. When things fell apart with her own partner, she didn't hesitate: she packed up, took her daughter Zahra, and came back home rather than repeat a mistake she had watched her whole childhood. Elyx is the youngest, still living under the same roof, counting down the days to graduation and whatever comes after, anything really, as long as it's somewhere else. The house is loud, tensions run close to the surface, and disagreements don't take long to find their way into the open. But they show up for each other anyway, in the imperfect and complicated way that families do. Emil is older now and no longer working, which means Cristina is carrying the weight of five people on her shoulders, quietly, without much of a choice. Some families fall apart. This one just keeps rearranging itself and trying again. And again, again.
