Mod description

What this mod adds

A quaint and loved house in the folk victorian style. The Victorian period lasted some amount of time between some year in the 19th century and some year after that. Reflecting a time of prosperity in England and, so, the various colonies (and former colonies) of the Commonwealth, the Victorian era was all about grandeur, excess, and conspicuously flaunting every little nothing you had. Naturally, this was all on the backs of those workers in the fields and factories, who still couldn't afford much even if their local well wasn't quite so choleric anymore, but history is written by those who can write. Yet the fashion was the fashion, and as the grand mansions of the Victorian age cropped up all across England, Australia, and North America (probably plenty of other places, too), even the common folk desired a taste of that high style. And, curiously, rather than hire an architect and dozens of workmen, the farmers and foremen of the world set about with their own tools and creativity to build homes which were more than houses - they were works of art. By the end of the era, the city streets and country roads of the Anglosphere were dotted with homes, big and small, which wore bright colors, clever woodcraft, and fine glasswork with pride. Speckles of cheer and creativity in the infamously dreary and heartless factory age, these Victorian-style homes of the common folk came to be. One bedroom, one (awkward and cramped) bath. Unfurnished beyond the bare necessities and a few ornaments. This modest but not minute house escaped the ever-redeveloping urban sprawl and hid far enough from the Interstate projects to be here today, looking for a new para to call it home. It's up to the task, whether in the village or countryside, to shelter a history-loving loner or an elderly couple embracing retirement in style. If your paras are up to it, I suppose the bedroom is large enough to share with a kid, but that's on you. No mods here, but, given the inability to "legally" place windows on roof pieces, some advanced build mode toying went into those gable windows. Here's hoping the developers figure that one out someday. At around $24,000 to place, this one's a bit pricier than my usual, but nothing absurd. Your parafolk are buying a well-loved piece of history here! Or, y'know, a virtual representation of one. Just like they're virtual representations of people. Whoa, man.
