Hair and Eye Genetics Overhaul

UPDATE 30 May 2026 I have expanded the mod to include unnatural eye color genetics. The following eye color categories are now available: Brown Blue Green Yellow/Orange Pink Purple White/Gray Red Unfortunately, I once again had to remove recessive inheritance in order to make everything work properly. I may be able to revisit and improve this in the future, but I am not sure yet. The system is quite complex, and I still do not fully understand how it works technically in Paralives. However, this approach at least allows more eye color categories to be inherited instead of being limited to just brown, blue, and green. As with the hair colors, I also had to add a number of additional eye color swatches to support the new categories. I will include another screenshot so you can see how many swatches have been added. ____________________________________________ This mod overhauls the hair genetics system by adding a wide range of inheritable hair color swatches across multiple color categories. Currently, the mod includes the following hair color categories: Black Brown Blonde Orange Red Gray White Rose (light pink) Purple Pink Green Blue Turquoise I originally created this mod for a challenge I’m participating in, so it was mainly designed for myself and the other participants. The genetics system works as follows: Every hair color can inherit black Different hair color combinations can inherit from each other (and sometimes black) Matching hair color combinations can inherit themselves and, in some cases, black Unfortunately, I had to make blonde non-recessive because the mod would not function correctly otherwise. As a result, every hair color currently has the same inheritance chance. The main purpose of this mod is to allow unnatural hair colors to be inherited naturally across generations. While the system is not as complex as the base game’s genetics, it serves as a workaround until the game hopefully adds proper unnatural hair color genetics in the future. I plan to eventually expand the mod to include genetics for unnatural eye and skin colors as well, but for now it is limited to hair colors. The mod also adds a large number of additional hair color swatches. This is necessary so that each color category has enough inheritable swatches, while also adding some variety between the shades within each category. I included a preview image so you can see how many swatches are added and decide for yourself whether you are comfortable with that amount or would prefer not to use the mod.
