A Shotgun Shack

You might find yourself living in one of these. A remarkably modest shotgun house which has endured the past century, though apparently not unscathed. Additions and attempted renovations from various decades are worn like battle scars by this simple, oft-overlooked abode. Unassuming and dilapidated exterior, tired and dated interior, this shotgun could clean up nicely - it just needs a little help to shine like it did over a century ago. Inspired by the very spirit of this timeless and storied house design, my little shotgun shack here wears its story openly. Perhaps built as worker accommodations, given a proper bathroom when plumbing arrived in the 1930s or so, neglected and abused by a succession of short-term residents and would-be flippers since the 70s. Atleast none of them were loony enough to pull up the original hardwood! But nobody fixed the radiator, either, so it's neither here nor there. Two (disconcerting) bedrooms, one (strikingly unrenovated) bath. Besides the basic amenities and some characterful details, the house is unfurnished. Typical passthrough floorplan front to rear. Probably best for a single para or couple, but a nursery is entirely possible. Just think about removing the paneling. No mods or tricks were used in this lot, so it should be functional well into the future of Paralives. At under $10,500, this shotgun is ready for the budget renovator or economy-conscious couple to make it a home once again. Just don't go burning down the house.
