What this mod adds

A house from which to conquer the world... one cheeseburger at a time. In April, 2013, Fallout-focused YouTuber AlChestBreach began a playthrough of The Sims 3 as part of his then-ongoing "Miscellaneous Monday" block. That playthrough, following the ever-inept yet implausibly successful Duggart family, would air over 15 months in 145 roughly twenty-minute episodes. It remains legendary among AlChestBreach fans for its absurdity and Al's (mostly) candid reactions to said absurdity. Among late-cycle let's plays of The Sims 3, it is undoubtably the best. So I've gone ahead and replicated the Duggart household, to spare you the trouble of meticulously studying remarkably compressed thirteen-year-old YouTube videos featuring that virtual testament to apathy. Truly, there never was a more pure antithesis to dedicated virtual homebuilding and interior decor than Al's treatment of the Duggart house. Screenshots speak louder than words, so see for yourself. Such a fantastically hideous thing. My rendition of the Duggarts' abode is really a simulacrum of its appearance across the first twenty-five episodes of "The Sims 3 with Al!", reflecting the state of the house during Bobby's youth. So it's single-story, no basement (mostly because Paralives isn't quite ready for real basements yet), with Steven, Bobby, and Harold's beds together in the back room. The ever-disused rear patio, ridiculously oversized roof, and cavernous rooms, hallmarks of this great mistake, are lovingly recreated. Unfortunately, some of the worst elements of The Sims 3's aesthetics don't have great analogues in Paralives, so certain details - most obviously the wallpaper and paneling - are only roughly represented. My apologies. I did include Waffles' toy bin and food bowl, though! She was such a good boy. I've ceased understanding how Paralives estimates imported lot value, but it's not prohibitively expensive to place with the default budget. Despite its origins in Sunset Valley with a trio of rock-stupid Sims, the Duggarts' house could feasibly be home to a trio of parafolk who don't mind that multiple people died violently on the property. Or that the ghost of Harold and Bobby likely still haunt the various chairs. Or that the carpet is more Waffles' urine than textiles, even all these years later. Thanks for all the laughs, Al! And as the great geriatric communist rockstar Harold Duggart once said, "bobble herby."
