An ordinary but rather cute bungalow from the mid-20th century.
With the post-war baby boom, the American housing market erupted with demand. Maybe most recognizable of this era is the ranch house, however many earlier styles also persisted and adapted to the wants and needs of America in the Atomic Age. For those who weren't in a place to afford a supposedly fire-proof masonry ranch, the wood-framed bungalows so popular in the interwar period found a second wind as modest yet modern small family homes.
This little bungalow is like so many I've seen. Unassuming but cute, especially if treated right and fed a healthy diet. With only a few minor modifications over the years and seemingly a budget-conscious but selectively tasteful builder, this meek house has weathered the worst of times and come out sweet, approachable, and only a bit scruffy.
Two (seemingly original) bedrooms and one (surprisingly clean) bath. Besides the bare necessities, the house is unfurnished. Despite the compact layout, a small parafamily could easily call this baby blue bungalow their forever home. No silly build mode nonsense or mods were used in making this lot, though if I could've put wallpaper on the ceiling in the smaller bedroom I would've. The late 40s were crazy times.
Just under $13,000 to plop in the post-war suburb of your choosing. All it needs is a big chrome car and a golden retriever out front to make it complete. Maybe in a few updates!
