Parafolk Guide
Personality Traits
Paralives has 112 personality traits organized across 6categories: Stats, Vibe, Talent, Social, Lifestyles, and Advanced Personality. Together they define every dimension of a Parafolk’s character - from physical attributes and emotional tendencies to skill affinities, social behaviors, and daily habits.
Personality categories unlock progressively as a Parafolk ages. Stats become available to Toddlers. Talent unlocks at Child. Vibe arrives in the Pre-Teen stage. Teen unlocks Social and Lifestyles. Older Parafolk can reach a maximum personality level of 20, while children are capped at lower levels that grow with each stage. The XP system charges a base cost of 5 experience per level, with 25 additional XP per personality level reached.
Many traits can evolve during gameplay. A Vibe or Talent trait selected in the Paramaker branches into one of two child traits once certain conditions are met. Child traits can then evolve into advanced specializations. This means the personality you set at character creation is a starting point, not a fixed definition - Parafolk continue to develop throughout their lives.

Stats
7 points to spend · max 3 per stat
Point-buy attributes. Distribute 7 points (max 3 per stat) across Physique, Mind, Creativity, and Charisma. Stats influence skill learning speed, physical performance, social success rates, and creative output.
Vibe
Emotional temperament. Choose one Vibe trait that defines how your Parafolk experiences and expresses emotions. Vibes evolve through gameplay into two child traits, each offering further specialization.
Social
Relationship style. Social traits define how a Parafolk approaches friendships, romance, family, and cooperation. Each Social trait can evolve into one of two child paths, then further into advanced sub-traits.
Talent
Skill affinity. Talent traits grant bonuses to specific skill domains - Music, Fitness, Food, Technology, Art, or Jack-of-All-Trades (or its inverse, Good at Nothing). Like Vibe, Talent traits evolve into child specializations.
Lifestyles
Daily habits. Lifestyles are behavior patterns like Sleeping Habits (Normal, Early Bird, or Night Owl) and Cleaning Habits (Normal, Sloppy, or Neat). Vegetarian is a dietary Lifestyle. These traits unlock at the Teen stage.
Advanced Personality
Identity and biological settings. Covers pregnancy capabilities, breastfeeding, pronouns, and jealousy threshold. These settings are set in a dedicated Advanced Personality panel in the Paramaker and do not draw from the main personality point budget.
Advanced Sub-traits & Evolutions
69 traits - click to expandThese are the evolved forms of Vibe, Talent, and Social traits, plus Lifestyle sub-options. They unlock through gameplay as Parafolk reach personality level milestones, not through Paramaker selection. Lifestyle sub-options like Early Bird and Night Owl are chosen in the Paramaker from within the parent Lifestyle trait.

How do personality points work in Paralives?
The Stats category uses 7 personality points that you distribute across Physique, Mind, Creativity, and Charisma. Each stat has a maximum of 3 points. Other personality categories like Vibe, Talent, and Social work through trait selection rather than point allocation. Lifestyles traits represent habits that develop through gameplay.
How do personality traits evolve in Paralives?
Traits in Vibe, Talent, and Social categories can evolve into more specific sub-traits through gameplay. For example, an Overjoyed Vibe trait can evolve into either 'Happy Go Lucky' or 'Radiating Joy,' and those children can evolve further into advanced traits earned through experience. The base experience required per level-up is 5 XP, with 25 additional XP required per personality level.
What is Advanced Personality in Paralives?
Advanced Personality is a separate panel in the Paramaker that handles body and identity settings: pregnancy capabilities, breastfeeding capabilities, pronouns (He/Him, She/Her, They/Them), and jealousy thresholds in relationships. These settings define how a Parafolk interacts with biological and relationship systems without being tied to the main personality point budget.
